We need someone who has the ability to assemble recorded footage into a finished project that matches the production’s vision and is suitable for broadcasting. The ideal candidate understands blending sight and sound together in order to tell a cohesive story in a 15 second commercial, 2 minute news package, 6 minute feature piece, short film or documentary.

We need someone who has the ability to assemble recorded footage into a finished project that matches the production’s vision and is suitable for broadcasting. The ideal candidate understands blending sight and sound together in order to tell a cohesive story in a 15 second commercial, 2 minute news package, 6 minute feature piece, short film or documentary.
Responsibilities
Manipulate and edit video in a way that is invisible to the audience
Review shooting script/format and any raw materials, to create a shot decision list based on scenes’ value
Trim footage segments and put together the sequence of the piece
Input music, dialogues, graphics and effects
Create rough and final cuts
Ensure logical sequencing and smooth running
Continuously discover and implement new editing technologies and industry’s best practices to maximize efficiency
Employ relevant video animations that tailor to the client’s brand
Establish a fine tuned audio product, with the ability to reduce or remove white noise and be able to isolate and correct problem areas in creative ways
Maintain Gotham Trinity’s social media accounts with relevant promotional videos with coherent, well written copy in the caption and post
Lead the edit team that will include freelance and intern personnel

Five years of proven video/film editing experience with digital technology and proficiency in the Adobe suite of programs
Familiarity with special effects and compositing
Thorough knowledge of timing, motivation and continuity
Creative mind and storytelling skills
Ability to problem solve and be resourceful to complete tasks
Organizational skills to set forth standard operating procedures for the post production process
BS degree in film studies, cinematography, broadcast, or related field, strongly preferred
Familiarity with special effects and compositing
