Develop, implement, and manage day-to-day as well as overall digital strategy and content for Nickelodeon News, including social media
Plan weekly content, assign stories to online staff, manage workflow, work closely with online staff, and review and edit all content, both text and video.
Work closely with Nickelodeon News producers and management regarding upcoming stories, ongoing projects, and weekly lineups
Monitor and evaluate a range of performance metrics and devise creative, innovative strategies to improve engagement and build our presence on current and emerging platforms.
Develop and coordinate best social media practices for the broadcast.
Proactively work to help team identify and address problems quickly when they arise.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
10+ years’ experience in hard news, working in a deadline driven news environment
Extensive journalism experience is essential, including a strong background in writing, copy editing, and video production
Ability to generate original story ideas and produce original stories for broadcast
Desire to work in a collaborative, high pressure environment
Ability to pitch and execute stories
Extensive experience with digital content and platforms; must know how to evaluate digital metrics and respond with creative strategies
Some management experience necessary, especially working with teams of people
A willingness to work a variety of shifts, including evenings, overnights and weekends and thrive under daily deadline pressures
Ability to thrive under daily deadline pressures
Excellent attention to detail
Strong organizational skills and ability to perform duties under deadline
Ability to travel as needed
