Job Description

The Job

Turner Studios is always looking for temporary hires in the Scenic department. We are actively recruiting for the following positions regularly and are interested in hearing from qualified candidates who are available to work on a temporary basis. If you are qualified for one or more of the following positions, you are encouraged to apply and detail your experience and the positions for which you would like to be considered. For all positions the ability to take a project to completion with limited supervision is desired. Good communication is a key requirement, and a valid drivers’ license is preferred.

Scenic Carpenter: Requires a solid understanding of the scenery construction process. They will assist other carpenters and painters in the shop and should be able to effectively work in a wide range of materials – wood, plexiglass, laminates and metals.

Scenic Graphics Tech: Familiarity with Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator a plus. Valid drivers’ license preferred.

Stagehand: Must have a good understanding of the studio production process. They will assist other scenic personnel both in the shop (light construction) and in the studio during production. They will be the point of contact, in the studio, with directors/producers and must be able to communicate effectively.

The Essentials
Scenic Carpenter: 3 years of experience in the film/TV industry preferable. Ability to interpret drawings for construction. Proficient in use of hand and power tools.

Scenic Graphics Tech: Familiarity with Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator a plus. Valid drivers’ license preferred.

Stagehand should be a self-motivated and solution-oriented person. 3 years of experience in the film/TV industry preferable. Able to function in the fast-paced environment.
