Digital Video Producer

Summary
The Sun Online is one of the biggest global publishers and the UK's biggest digital newsbrand. The Sun launched in the US - with The US Sun - in January 2020, and we need an experienced video producer and camera operator to support our ongoing expansion. It is the responsibility of the video department to consistently source the best, traffic driving, breaking news footage from around the world and to produce end-to-end original content for The Sun’s digital platforms.
Job Description
You will:
Be an outstanding camera operator and video editor with expertise in Adobe
Premiere Pro and After Effects
Have experience of working in a fast-paced, breaking news environment - ideally at a national level - and delivering to tight deadlines
Be adept at sourcing new and viral videos and organising all elements of production shoots both in-studio and on location as well as writing briefs for videographers and journalists
Be full of ideas on how best to produce original content for editorial and social media consumption and have a proven track record of production
You will need:
Editorial background ideally with experience in a digital publishing environment
An understanding of The US Sun’s audience and the kinds of stories that drive traffic
Be able to deal with agencies who sell video content
Be able to regularly deal with other departments in the business
Have a full understanding of the legal landscape and knowledge of content rights
To work flexibly, including evening and weekend shifts
