Video Producer Original Content

Creativity, motivation and being a team player is key. A visual and detailed eye, an innovator who likes to experiment on new ways to produce content will be invaluable to the team. The feature content may be branded and sponsored at times and it will inform and entertain Local Now viewers. They are responsible for researching and developing stories, seeing projects from concept to fruition and must understand production/editing standards for Local Now.  She/he will incorporate a distinctive approach to writing, shooting, editing and producing content while adhering to defined editorial and journalistic standards and that’s easily scalable across all of Local Now’s platforms.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Research and easily develop segments on a broad range of topics.
Write, shoot, edit and voice content
Strong research and interview skills; able to communicate and find experts on various subjects
Create templates to allow efficient replication of approved concepts
Team player and solution oriented; work with colleagues when problems arise
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Work well under pressure, within a team environment and have the ability to think outside-the-box when it comes to creating video content
Able to apply critical and strategic thinking, handle stress, be quick-thinking and accurate
Work with producers, associate producers and management to execute original feature segments.
Must have a knowledge of social media and understand what drives users to engage with Local Now’s Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts.

Education, Experience, Certification Requirements

Bachelor degree in communications, journalism, TV/Web production or related subject preferred
Minimum 3 years’ experience producing digital content at a major news network or online news publication
Must have expert level experience with all aspects of digital video production

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Proven knowledge of online production and multimedia storytelling, online publishing systems and technologies
Demonstrate knowledge of online production and multimedia storytelling, and working knowledge of online publishing systems and technologies
Demonstrate leadership and employee development skills
Proven ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously
Demonstrate organizational and time management skills and work well under deadline pressure
Strong analytical ability
Works well in collaborative environment
Must be able to lift, carry and transport heavy production equipment on a regular basis
