Job Description
What you'll do:
Support line producer in establishing show’s editorial direction
Write compelling banners that summarize what is happening during court proceedings
Create, write, and produce segments relating to the day’s trial, packages, and daily scripts
Book guests
Develop contacts and sources
Write and produce daily segment covering the day’s compelling legal stories
Basic rundown timing
Work closely with network talent and line producer
Additional duties may include line producing
What you'll bring:
Education & Experience
Must have at least 3 years’ experience producing live cable news programming
Skills & Abilities
Strong editorial skills
Journalistic writing, research and package writing skills and editorial judgment
An interest or passion for true crime stories and a strong interest in live trial coverage
Must be able to calmly disseminate and communicate breaking news and important information during live events
Must be an effective team player with strong interpersonal skills
Knowledge of iNews is helpful
Social media expertise
Ability to cultivate and develop contacts and sources
Ability to quickly identify stories, multi-task and prioritize assignments
Looking for someone who is eager, cooperative, energetic and team-oriented
