Job Description

This team oversees multiplatform national public media content initiatives including: Chasing the Dream, on poverty, justice, and economic opportunity in America, Peril and Promise, on climate change, and Exploring Hate, on Antisemitism, racism, and extremism. These ongoing initiatives extend across every PBS program, platform, and vertical.

The Multimedia Production Assistant will report to the Executive Producer and work closely with the Producer and Associate Producer on all tasks and projects. Specific responsibilities include:
Daily social media content generation including copywriting and creation of video/audio/visual/written social media assets;
Create social media toolkits and liaise with internal and external partners;
Monitor and moderate website, social media, and YouTube comments;
Assist with packaging and editing video and graphics for web and social;
Website content generation and uploading including performing timely and accurate updates to sites and video management system, and writing website content;
Assist with special online and eventual in-person events, community engagement initiatives, and joint projects with Education team to bring projects to kids/educators;
Assist Associate Producer with analytics management and tracking;
Manage media and maintain organization of department’s various media management systems and records;
Support production shoots as on set PA (helping with on-site crew, guests, and production management);
Conduct editorial research for projects, pitches, and campaigns;
Support team with administrative duties such as scheduling, expense reports, and records maintenance and organization;
Additional responsibilities, as assigned.

Qualifications include:
A minimum of year of experience in digital media or television/broadcast environment;
Proficiency with social media platforms including Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and social media content generation;
Some video editing experience and basic graphic design experience; proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite including Premiere, Photoshop, Illustrator, and AfterEffects preferred;
Experience with web platforms and digital content production; Wordpress is a plus;
Exceptional written and verbal communication and presentation skills;
Demonstrated editorial research skills, especially for complex/data heavy topics;
Knowledge of and strong interest in Multiplatform content areas (climate change, economic inequality, antisemitism, racism;
Demonstrated planning, organization and problem analysis skills.
