Job Description

MarthaStewart.com is seeking an Associate Digital Editor to join its team. This person should be an experienced digital editor and writer with a strong interest in lifestyle content and a passion for the Martha Stewart brand.

The Associate Digital Editor will be responsible for ideating and creating evergreen and news-driven content across our core verticals with a focus on home, food, gardening, pets, DIY, holidays, and entertaining. This person will also be tasked with overseeing and executing content projects directly tied to revenue, including affiliate content and sold campaigns.

The person in this position will work closely with the senior edit team to create best-in-class content that is on-brand but also exceeds traffic goals across platforms. Our ideal candidate is strategic and data-driven, but also creative. The Associate Digital Editor should be extremely driven, organized, and highly collaborative.

Essential Job Functions
  • Pitch, write, and produce evergreen content (including inspiration galleries, service-driven content, and round-ups) daily. This includes content refreshes (optimizing for SEO) and creating new content.
  • Pitch and write daily news content and assist with syndication strategy
  • Assist in conceptualizing and executing ecommerce content
  • Work with senior editors on SEO clean-up projects, sold campaigns, tentpoles, and other edit initiatives

Minimum Qualifications and Job Requirements 

Education:

Bachelors’ degree in Journalism or related field, preferred but not required.

Experience:

At least 2 years of digital experience

Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Incredible writing, editing, and brainstorming skills
  • A proven track record of creating content that drives traffic and engagement
  • A strong attention to detail with the ability to multitask
  • A strategic thinker who considers traffic and social analytics before making an editorial decision
  • An idea generator who can think of new, fresh ways to package content
  • Excellent people skills
  • Experience with SEO, CMS, Photoshop, and Google Analytics
  • Enthusiastic about the Martha Stewart brand and the topics we cover
