Job Description
The Associate Producer works as part of a production team collaborating and assisting with all aspects of production on-location and/or in-studio and assists the Coordinating Producer with the day to day operations of the Media Production Department.
Essential Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

- The Associate Producer produces, writes and edits video features for “Inside the HEAT”
- Exercises editorial judgment in selection of content and supports the creation of pre-produced elements.
- Develops, produces, writes and edits video presentations for all HEAT digital platforms: Mobile App/Social/Internet/Broadcast/HEATV.
- Serves as Field Producer for all HEAT Group events: Researches, coordinates, writes, conduct interviews, and oversee remote production crew.
- Logs, researches and helps maintain videotape library and archiving system.
- Responsible for logging, importing, exporting, uploading and distributing daily content to all digital platforms (Broadcast/App/Social/Internet/HEAT Store Network/Local and National Media Outlet):
- HEAT practice, shoot around and postgame
- HEAT Hilight Reels
- ENG Events
- Sitdown Interviews
- Assists videographers and producers, as requested, both in house and on location:
- Preparation, setup and strike of studio and remote productions.
- Field audio
- Utility/grip duties
- Responsible for learning Media Production Digital Workflow and Standard Operating Procedures.
- Assists in producing, writing and editing video promos and features for “Inside the HEAT”.
- Logs, researches and helps maintain videotape library and archiving system.
- Responsible for assisting in captioning and streaming media content as needed for HEAT.Com, Marketing, Market Research and Corporate Sales.
- Responsible for learning and operating Media Production systems:
- Routing System; Broadcast Servers and Disc/Memory Card Recorders; DVD Duplicating System; Glookast Ingest System; Radiant Grid Transcoder; AVID Interplay; AVID Media Composer Non-Linear Editing System; AVID Logging Software; Intercom System.
- Responsible for learning and operating studio equipment such as teleprompter, lighting instruments, camera and sound equipment.
- Responsible for learning graphic compositing software like Photoshop/Marqee/AfterEffects to create graphics elements as needed: lower thirds/fullscreens/tags.
- Responsible for learning Arena network and NBA HSAN connectivity.

- Assists Coordinating Producer in carrying out day to day operations on “Inside the HEAT”.
- Assists the Director and Manager of Media Production in carrying out the day to day operations of the Media Production department
- Work extended and/or irregular hours including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
A bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education, experience, and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is helpful but not required. Familiarity with codecs, compression such as QuickTime, MP4, and other HD and SD for all mediums. Previous software experience with AVID, Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe After Effects, a plus. Background knowledge of various styles of Broadcast and DSLR camera systems and video production tools a plus. Pay high attention to detail and organized, proactive and possess continual willingness to help and learn, show initiative and be able think on your feet and take direction.
