Program Manager

The Black News Channel, LLC (BNC) is looking for a Program Manager responsible for scheduling and to lead efforts on improving efficiencies, parameters, storytelling, day parting for all programming.

Must have a broad knowledge and passion for pop culture, TV, film, and online video. This role reports to the VP of Programming.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Measures the strength and integrity of programming for BNC.
Develops successful programming schedules using resourcefulness and all available tools, data, and rese arch.
Reviews content to improve programming, while working across departments to understand how to achieve results.
Creates and refines programming stunts, channels, and content for marketing and promotional use.
Shows objective support for these ideas, using all tools available, especially data.
Execute program and schedule changes in Scheduling database.
Maintains the content database of TV, film and digital catalogs.
Conduct regularly scheduled project team meetings to review progress, discuss critical issues, make decisions, refine plans, and keep team members informed of changes to product requirements and/or the development plan.
At least 5 years of work experience in media and entertainment,
Recent focus programming content targeting African American audiences.

Requirements & Skills:

5 years of program management experience in the digital media industry, preferably with video- based experiences and products across web, mobile and OTT platforms
Understanding of the business aspect of network programming.
Strong knowledge of television and emerging trends.
Strong interpersonal and diplomatic skills, including the ability to work successfully within a collaborative team environment.
Excellent verbal and written communication, as well as organizational, financial and managerial skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Strong Research and viewership analysis experience.
Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism, Communications or related discipline.
