PT High School Sports Producer

The assistant will be expected to cover sporting events, produce feature stories, develop sources to break and report news, contribute to social media, assist with collection of scores, and other tasks.

This position is located in the Triad Region of North Carolina and will cover high school sports in Burlington, Greensboro, Winston-Salem, Asheboro, and surrounding areas.

The assistant will write game stories, articles, produce video highlights, and conduct in-person and virtual interviews, among other things. Ability to drive to games and events and work on deadline is required.

This is a part-time position — approximately 20 hours per week on average — with most of the work on nights and weekends.

This person should have a demonstrated knowledge of high school sports in North Carolina, an interest in media, and strong written and spoken communication skills. Must be self-sufficient, driven, and comfortable with technology tools, including web and social media.

The successful candidate should be either a current student or recent graduate of a four-year college/university with an interest in pursuing a career in sports media, news media, or related field.
