Job Description

The Big Ten Network is looking for a Coordinator to join the StudentU team in Chicago, IL! As the StudentU Coordinator you are responsible for ensuring the successful production of more than 1,700 live games annually by the Big Ten member institutions. You’ll work with campus streaming coordinators and students to teach and instill best practices for broadcasting live sports and collaborate with a team of Quality Control operators to make sure the games are up to Big Ten Network broadcast standards and stream to the B1G+ platform.

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Work with athletic department staff coordinators and students to ensure the successful production of live events for the B1G+ platform
  • Oversee a team of Quality Control operators to monitor broadcasts and provide feedback to student crews on campus
  • Troubleshoot technical issues that arise prior to and during live broadcasts
  • Create and maintain training manuals and documents to assist students in understanding and achieving StudentU production standards
  • Collaborate with the digital department to spotlight key plays and moments in streamed games and ensure their promotion on Big Ten Network’s social media platforms
  • Travel to campuses to provide students and on-campus coordinators with hands-on training and support
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
  • 2+ years of prior experience overseeing live sports productions
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
  • Understanding of typical broadcast equipment (switcher, replay, graphics, cameras) and ability to troubleshoot issues related to that equipment efficiently and remotely
  • Capability to manage multiple projects and provide solid decision-making skills in a high-pressure environment

Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis on communication, journalism, or other related field
