Job Description

You will report to the Area Manager-Costume Buying. 

You Will: 
  • Monitor warehouse inventory and complete withdrawal transactions when needed.  
  • Work closely with vendors and develop garment bid packages for specific commodities.  
  • Ensures receipt by vendors. Issues fabric request and secures all required garment samples. 
  • Partner with Entertainment and Costuming Operations to ensure costume quality and design is consistently maintained. 
  • Adheres to all The Walt Disney Company procurement policies and guidelines.  
  • Meets customer service requirements for service, quality and value at the lowest total cost. 
  • Maintains files of signed vendor contracts, requests for proposals and bid exception forms. 
  • Communicate all production status to Team, Issue, and Line of Business.  
  • Tracks and clears blocked invoices over 90 days old from posting via communication with requestors. 
  • Monitor work assignments and results for a select group of hourly union and/or Office & Technical cast members. 
You Will Have: 
  • Demonstrated strong organizational skills with attention to detail 
  • Demonstrated strong computer skills in MS Word, Outlook and Excel and willingness to learn new programs 
  • Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills 
  • Demonstrated strong partnering skills 
  • Ability to be flexible with work schedule, including extended hours 
  • Strong negotiation skills 
  • Proven knowledge of garment construction and terminology  
  • Demonstrated self-starter with the ability to multitask and manage multiple projects simultaneously 
Preferred Qualifications:
  • It would be great if you also have:
  • Familiar with SAP, YuniquePLM (or other PLM software), and MS Access  
  • Experience in Textiles and/or the Apparel industry 
  • Knowledge of fabrics with an understanding of their relation to design and construction techniques 
  • Knowledge of international shipping processes and global sourcing 
  • Garment specification and/or technical specification writing is a plus 
  • This position is located in Orlando, FL.
Required Education:
  • High school degree or equivalent
Preferred Education:
  • Secondary degree in Merchandising, Textiles or related field or 4+ years’ experience in Disney Parks & Resorts Costuming or in the Garment Industry
