About Station

KWQC-TV6 is a dominant NBC affiliate, serving Eastern Iowa and Western Illinois as the Quad Cities’ #1 station for news, information and entertainment programming. The Quad Cities area is located right on the Mississippi River just 2.5 hours from Chicago, 2 from Des Moines, 4 from St. Louis and 5.5 from Minneapolis/St. Paul.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

Digital Content Producer will serve the station similar to a newspaper reporter – someone who makes regular beat calls, writes web stories, even visits a few meetings to report on important news of the day online that might not always make it on TV. Digital Content Producer will also find ways to engage more with online users and followers by using tools like slideshows, videos, links, polls, livestreams, chats, heat maps, etc. A Digital Content Producer must also find unique ways to incorporate web and social elements in newscasts. This position involves strong news judgement, relentless urgency in getting information, creativity, communication and professionalism.

Qualifications:

A college degree in journalism broadcasting or related field. Experience is a plus. In lieu of a college degree, applicants with 2 or more years of experience in the broadcast or forecasting industry will be considered. Knowledge and experience with HTML and the capabilities of Web browsers is needed along with knowledge of Photoshop, Google drive and apps, etc. A strong candidate already knows how to write for web-based platforms and can work under intense deadlines.
