Job Description

This role would require performing all the technical filming aspects such as shooting footage, directing talent, and producing episodes as well as editing the final video (outside of color and score). The ideal candidate possesses strengths in creative writing, directing, and producing with a twist of fun. A big part of our success formula is being able to turn around high quality videos quickly and affordably so this position requires a multi-talented, self-motivated, and resourceful individual that can wear many hats. Since we are a mission-led company and all of the content we create inspires people, the right candidate will find the hours to be exciting and highly satisfying.

HOW YOU’LL SPEND YOUR TIME:
  • Working with a small crew to shoot and direct weekly episodes for a new children’s channel on YouTube 
  • Ideating, writing and planning; will typically be two days of pre-production and three days of shooting
  • Shooting consists of going to children’s themed locations with 1-3 actors who teach lessons to children through structured improvisation
  • Collaborating with our Production Manager to grow the channel together based on data driven strategies
  • Directing cast and crew to be able to tell an entertaining story
  • Managing many moving pieces in a high pressure environment with the calmness of a seasoned professional
WHAT YOU HAVE:
  • 3+ years of experience working in digital video production, ideally YouTube or social media focused
  • Experience or interest in children focused content
  • Experience working with on-camera talent and crews
  • Technical proficiency with cinema cameras and gimbals
  • Knowledge of editing workflows and file management
  • Knowledge of YouTube
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment on a wide variety of projects 
WHO OVERSEES YOU:
The Director/Shooter will report directly to the Senior Production Manager and will have regular interaction

WHO YOU OVERSEE:
Currently, the Director/Shooter has no personnel reporting directly to him or her

WHERE IT ALL GOES DOWN:
All the action takes place at our BRAND NEW studio in Burbank, CA

WHEN THE MAGIC HAPPENS:
