Job Description

Responsibilities:
A day in the life…
  • Assist producers with all aspects of news gathering and production, including on-air segments
  • Build story proposal lists and elements
  • Assist with delivery of show production elements/rundowns, etc.
  • Running scripts and lineups
  • Travel on story shoots
  • Opportunities for story writing/editing available and encouraged
  • Opportunities for pitching and producing segments for air
Basic Qualifications:

  • Strong news judgment
  • Strong writing skills
  • AVID editing experience preferred, but not mandatory
*TO BE QUALIFIED, YOU MUST BE WILLING TO WORK A REGULAR OVERNIGHT SHIFT (IN PERSON SOME DAYS) FROM 9PM – 5AM, SUNDAY-THURSDAY*

Preferred Qualifications:
  • College Senior, Graduate School Journalism student or recent graduate
  • Major or previous coursework in journalism
  • Previous experience (academic or internship) in television, news & new media production
  • Previous experience (academic or internship) writing news stories for publication
  • Strong proficiency in non-linear video editing software
  • Previous internship experience in professional newsroom
Additional Information:
  • Must possess unrestricted work authorization
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • At the time of application, must currently be enrolled in an accredited college or university and taking at least one class – OR – be a recent graduate of an accredited college or university within the last 6 months - OR - be currently participating in the Disney College Program, or Disney Professional Internship Program
  • Must be willing to relocate to the New York City area and provide your own housing and transportation for the duration of the internship
  • Must be able to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the session
  • Must not have completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program
Program Dates
  • Must be available from May/June 2022 through January 2023
  • Must be willing to work 40 hours/week- OVERNIGHT SHIFTS. Shifts typically are 9pm-5am. Intern could work a couple days in the office and a couple days remotely.
