Food Stylist


I. Job Summary | Major goals and objectives.

The Food Stylist works with the Food Styling Director and in partnership with Meredith editorial and design staff to create high quality food images and video content for multiple platforms. 

II. Essential Job Functions

Weight % Accountabilities, Actions and Expected Measurable Results

80% Provides food styling for Meredith Brands as directed by the Food Styling Director. Communicates with editors and designers regarding projects style, schedule and special food needs.  Assist staff food stylists as assigned.

15% Develop recipes and test recipes for Meredith publications as assigned.

5% Stay current with food and photography trends.   


III. Minimum Qualifications and Job Requirements | All must be met to be considered.

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Food and Nutrition, A.A. in culinary arts or equivalent training and/or experience.

Art, design and photography classes helpful.

Experience:

Minimum 1 year of food styling experience with an emphasis on editorial food styling for print and video production.  Supervisory experience helpful. 

Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Must possess thorough knowledge of food, cooking techniques and recipe development.
Must be knowledgeable and innately inquisitive about food trends.
Must be creative and have a strong conceptual ability.
Must possess excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and follow-through.
Ability to juggle multiple projects in a face-paced environment.
Ability to work independently as well as working with others  to provide training and direction.
Ability to communicate directions to others.
Ability to perform well and stay organized under pressure. 
Proficient computer skills.

% Travel Required (Approximate): 5%
