Job Description

A GitHub video and livestream event producer never has the same day twice. With teams needing support in raising awareness, educating or entertaining fellow Hubbers, the creative opportunities are endless. This role is responsible for owning internal event video production targeted at our global workforce. GitHub is made up of folks from all over the world, with widely different backgrounds, but they all share a keen eye for authenticity. They deserve honest, creative and especially humorous videos to help them stay informed across the company, across the globe.

This role is based in San Francisco with periodic domestic and international travel opportunities (when safe travel resumes post COVID-19).

Responsibilities:

Creatively write, shoot, edit internal videos, from beginning to end. Can own projects, work autonomously to drive projects.
Shape and articulate compelling storytelling techniques and produce beautiful visual content ensuring projects meet brand quality and requirements.
Manage projects on schedule and within budget.
Hosting capabilities as needed in video projects (being on camera, interviewing).
Create an arsenal of self-serve resources to enable internal functions, such as HR and employee resource groups, create effective communications.
Keep the San Francisco onsite video production spaces, all the production and technical gear in great shape and stay current on gear and editing trends; advise as needed for US and international offices.
Run A/V (mics, lighting, stage, projection) and operate livestream (Zoom) for events remotely and in our HQ.
Manage technical production for offsite and remote live events for stream and in-room A/V support at large conference centers and hotels.
Act as a producer in support of the Events team and production vendors on high-impact external events like Satellite and Universe.
Help manage internal video distribution and media storage platforms.
Bring new ideas to the team to help keep our global company well-informed.

Minimum Qualifications:

5+ years of creating video content with professional production equipment.
You have a passion for storytelling and are excited about collaborating with different internal stakeholders to create compelling visual content for both internal and external audiences.
You've been up against tight deadlines and have grace under pressure when things go wrong…you keep a cool head and stay focused on solutions.
Excellent track record leading creative projects in a corporate environment.
You are able to concept, create and edit video content using storyboards, scripts, and stock footage.
You geek out on gadgets, cameras, lenses, editing software plugins, graphics, sound editing, and lighting. You’re a technical expert and love learning all about it.

Preferred Qualifications:

Editing and storytelling style that is organic, authentic, empathetic, inclusive and grounded.
Strong work ethic, strong interpersonal communication skills, a perpetual student who loves this work and the impact it has and strives to advance the discipline by delivering excellent work.
Excellent time management skills, self-directed.
Skilled at seeing how videos work within the overall communications ecosphere to make communications more effective.
Able to anticipate scheduling and/or budget challenges before they happen and figure a solution.
Sense of humor strongly encouraged.

Skills:

Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite – editing, motion graphics, sound, image creation/manipulation.
Expertise in live room technical gear – mics, lighting, soundboard, switcher, monitors, back of the room production equipment for live meetings.
Fluency in Zoom meeting and webinar features
Proficiency in Keynote, Google Slides and PowerPoint.
Writing video scripts, creative briefs, budgets, schedules.
A plus: Basic proficiency in using GitHub.
