Job Description

The Apprenticeship Program will start with a short intensive training period conducted by senior members of our 2D team. Upon completion of the training period, the Apprentices will transition into production shot work.

FuseFX is an award-winning Visual Effects Studio providing visual effects services for episodic television, feature films, commercials, virtual and VR productions. Founded in 2006, the company employs 500+ personnel across seven studio locations: our flagship office in Los Angeles, CA, New York City, Vancouver, BC., and Atlanta. Our offices in Montreal, Toronto, and Bogota, is serviced by FOLKS VFX. Folks joined the FuseFX family of brands in 2020.

Responsibilities:

Deliver consistently high-quality work and troubleshoot technical problems on assigned shots
Maintain a desire to deliver consistent high quality in terms of aesthetic and technical work and communicate effectively with other artists/comp supervisors
Effectively and seamlessly integrate elements with production footage, using rotoscoping, keying, painting, tracking, and other compositing techniques
Traits of a successful FuseFX Jr. Nuke Compositor:

Bachelor’s degree in either Computer Art and/or Visual Effects, preferred
Strong knowledge of Nuke
Good understanding of photorealistic VFX workflow
Ability to take direction and implement feedback with a positive attitude
Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment
Sharp organizational and time management skills
A fluent understanding of photography, color, and light
Practical knowledge of composition and perspective for shot design and look development
