Job Summary/Description:

Studio 10 is a lifestyle show currently airing 4-5pm weekdays on WILX-TV 10, in Lansing, Michigan. The show celebrates the people, places and events that make mid-Michigan a great place to live! It is a combination of sales/sponsored content and interviews, as well as original reporting from throughout our area. The show airs live and includes live studio guests, pre-produced packages, and field-anchoring. Studio 10 launched in Oct 2020, has been very successful, and is now looking for a EP/Host to take it to the next level.

Your responsibilities will include (but not be limited to) the following:

• The Studio 10 Executive Producer/Host manages this 4pm hour-long lifestyle show on WILX-TV 10 in Lansing MI.
• Oversee entire TV show, website and social media. Responsible for decisions that affect the show in general, as well as day-to-day management.
• Establish and fulfill the show’s vision, goals and objectives.
• Supervise Studio 10 staff, including establishing job descriptions, setting goals and expectations, and reviewing. Staff includes a producer, a co-host/reporter, and two reporters (who also serve as hosts at times.)
• Work with Sales Department on all sponsored elements of the show.
• Manage and coordinate all orientation and training for show staff.
• Maintain editorial control of all content appearing on Studio 10. 
• Responsible for the accuracy of all elements of the show including on air scripts, graphics web stories, etc. to maintain the show’s brand and image.
• Develop an editorial decision-making process, including a weekly editorial meeting with all stakeholders.
• Develop a reporting procedure with News Director and/or General Manager to keep him/her apprised of daily content, in order to collaborate if opportunities arise. 
• Continually brainstorm with staff on story ideas, showcasing and presentation.
• Establish procedures for all elements of the show including booking of guests, production, calendars, etc.
• Motivate staff and encourage “buy in” and teamwork.
• Provide staff feedback and evaluation on a regular basis.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a host or on-air personality
• Ability to prioritize and address multiple projects with varying production timelines
• Must be energetic, positive, and great in a team environment
• Must be a highly motivated self-starter, able to work well alone and as part of a team
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Ability to lead and work well with others.
• Strong editorial skills and ability to think creatively under constant deadline pressure.
• Must have the ability to stay up to date on current events; what’s popular, trendy, etc.
