About: I’m Maya a producer poised to go into pre-production of Vivienne Vaughn's 'Lucky Strikes'. We recently completed the Berlinale Talent Project Market for Producers, Fantasia Frontieres Co Production Lab and got Special Mention at Sitges Pitchbox. We're about to cement financing and pre-sales off the back of these labs and I'm looking for a local New Mexico Line Producer. We plan to shoot most of the movie in Albuquerque, with exteriors in Taos (where it’s set) in July.
Our project is a micro-budget feature ($300-700k realm, we have 13.9% of the budget in place), logline: when the men in her life begin to turn on her, a small-town girl on the brink of adolescence uses her newfound, otherworldly abilities to teach them a lesson in power . The story is a semi-autobiographical, queer, coming-of-age, feminist, alien, horror movie (we hit a lot of categories), that we plan to shoot in New Mexico where our director is from. We met in TISCH Summer class nearly 10 years ago and have been firm friends ever since.
