Job Description
Weigel Broadcasting Co. in Chicago has an immediate opening for a Media Ingest and QC Technician. The successful candidate will be responsible for the ingest, preparation and QC of long-form commercial and program content.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Reviewing television programs and commercials for technical issues including but not limited to captions quality, blended frames, macroblocking, and phasing.
- Reviewing content for editing errors like loose lip sync, flash frames, typos in on-screen text.
- Organizing and ingesting television programs and commercials.
- Coordinating with other departments to fix technical issues with program content.
- Other duties, as assigned.
Requirements:
- An understanding of broadcast audio/video basics is required (timecode, HD and SD video formats and codecs, aspect ratios, waveform measurements, closed captioning, etc)
- Have the ability to work with minimal supervision
- Have a strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills
- Have the ability to work evening, weekend and/or holiday hours
- Previous experience with transcoding software, broadcast automation systems and video tape recorders a plus
