Job Summary/Description:  

The Morning Newscast Producer is responsible for the news coverage in the 5-7 a.m. start of the day for Northeast Kansans. The job involves monitoring police frequencies, assigning the morning live reporter and photographer, as well as editing video and writing stories for the 2-hour, dual-anchor news block. The Morning Producer occasionally does video shooting on breaking stories. The position requires a person with energy and the ability to multi-task, while keeping him/herself up on important news in the 17-county viewing area.

The primary job duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Writing 
• Editing Video 
• Stacking newscasts 
• Monitoring scanner traffic 
• Assigning morning reporting team 
• Social media inputting 
• Story conception

Qualifications/Requirements:

• Degree in broadcasting journalism preferred 
• Spelling and grammar ability
