Job Summary/Description:  

WBRC Fox6 News is accepting applications for a paid journalism fellowship. The fellow will be reporting on health and medical disparities in Central Alabama for six weeks.

The primary job duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

The successful candidate will be reporting on health gaps that exist in Central Alabama. The Bridging the Great Health Divide Fellowship provides students with an opportunity to attain real-life reporting experience. Our fellow will report for all WBRC channels and work with WBRC managers and reporters. This access to industry experts is invaluable! This is a temporary, part-time, paid position.

Qualifications/Requirements:

- Graduate student with minimum of one semester of school remaining at the time of the fellowship assignment
- Proficient writing skills
- Ability to shoot and edit video and still photographs
- Ability to enterprise and set-up impactful stories
- Ability to work 20 hours per week for 6 weeks
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Interest in health and medical reporting
- Be coachable, humble, hungry and smart
