Have your work air on almost 50 television stations across the country, in big markets including Tampa, Phoenix and Detroit. Scripps Company is looking for a passionate and driven leader to take morning shows in Scripps markets to the next level. It's an innovative approach to the way we do news.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:

- Select and research news stories.
- Write scripts, edit video, and build graphics.
- May conduct interviews (Zoom, Teams, Skype, Facetime or In-Person), and enterprise original story ideas from a variety of sources.
- May be involved in repurposing existing content to be showcased in a unique way.
- Create and distribute stories to all platforms. 8-10 stories (VO/VO-SOTs/Segments) each night.
- Monitor various news sources for latest information.
- Verify facts, and communicate content options to stations across the company.
- Understand how stories play across several different states.
- Write scripts as needed; Edit or repurpose existing content and edit desktop video.
- Work with editors to utilize graphics and other tools to visually enhance storytelling.
- May be involved in repurposing existing content to be showcased in a unique way.
- Other duties as assigned.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING:
- 3-years as a producer in a top 50 market preferred.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism or related experience.
- Above all, you love to write … a word smith, grammar guru, courageous and creative storyteller.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
- Proficient in newsroom network systems and editing software.
- Must be strong writer, innovative and independent.
- Must have solid news judgement.
- Must be detail oriented with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Must have editing experience.
- Ability to work with people from television stations across the country.
- Knowledge and demonstration of creativity, editorial judgment, journalistic ethics and libel law.
- Solid understanding and demonstration of multimedia file formats and strong computer skills.
- Must be a team player and adapt to developing situations quickly.
- Must be an excellent conversational writer with solid news judgement and a positive attitude.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
