WHAT YOU'LL DO:
- Assist graphics supervisor by completing motion graphics projects as assigned
- Manage and maintain strong brand identity
- Create and produce day-to-day graphic content delivery to a client-based structure of craft editors, producers and control room staff
- Design and animate high-quality motion graphics for broadcast television
- Assist Art Director in higher-caliber projects
- Self-manage workflow and time
- Create complex graphics; develop templates and solutions for team and craft editors
- Identify and visualize creative solutions for fast-paced news environment
- Communicate clearly with team members on timing, workload and deliverables
- Review artwork to ensure the project goals have been met to the highest standard
- Anticipate graphic needs of newsroom producers, directors and craft editors
WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
- Bachelor (preferably design, motion media, or related field)
- 3-5 years of experience as motion graphic artist
WHAT YOU'LL BRING:
- Strong sense of editorial and journalistic ethics
- Previous graphics and art production work with a background in live, deadline-driven television newsroom desired
- Knowledge of graphic delivery via real-time graphics system (i.e., Ross XPression or VizRT), or other live broadcast graphics is preferred but not necessary
- Problem-solving attitude
- Must have a strong sense of design, composition, and typography with both still and motion graphics
- Highly skilled in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and After Effects; Expression and code writing, Cinema 4D and Augmented Reality experience a plus
- Highly organized
- Ability to accept and apply critical assessments
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to produce effective designs, multitask and maintain attention to detail and accuracy on projects from concept to completion; visual storyteller
- Detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task and prioritize under tight deadlines
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends and holidays, as needed. Work schedule subject to change based on news programming schedule needs
