About WMC:

WMC-TV, virtual and VHF digital channel 5, is an NBC-affiliated television station licensed to Memphis, Tennessee, United States. The station is owned by Gray Television. The station serves roughly the western third of Tennessee, northern Mississippi, eastern Arkansas and the southeastern corner of Missouri over the air, on satellite, and on various cable systems.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

The primary job duties include, but are not limited to:
• Create and maintain a programming schedule for our OTT streaming apps.
• Schedule interviews for the anchors at the Digital Desk.
• Gather and write content for Digital Desk livestreams and interviews.
• Respond quickly and aggressively to breaking news and getting a stream live.
• Communicate evolving information with anchors during breaking news livestreams.
• Edit video for multiple platforms.
• Operate the Digital Desk switcher and audio board when necessary.
• Create livestreams for, clip and publish Digital Desk events through our CMS.

Qualifications:

• Knowledge and understanding of various media platforms, including broadcast, web and mobile.
• Demonstrated ability of good news judgment and journalistic integrity.
• Experience with a digital content management system.
• Experience with non-linear video editing.
• An innovative team player with an ability to handle a variety of tasks and make sound decisions in a fast-paced, deadline-drive and sometimes stressful environment.
• Ability to write, edit, produce and gather content under heavy deadline pressure without compromising accuracy or credibility.
• Ability to interpret information to establish facts and determine truth.
• Ability to develop content through social media, national feeds, affiliates and independent sources.
• Ability to interact with all levels of station and corporate management.

Requirements: 
• At least two years of experience as a digital and/or broadcast news producer.
• Bachelor’s degree in journalism/communication or equivalent background.
• Flexibility with respect to scheduling and/or assigned work shifts.
• Must be willing to work in Memphis, Tennessee.
• Candidates must submit a resume, CV, reel and/or portfolio.
• Willingness to work overtime and on weekends with short notice.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Candidates must successfully complete a pre-employment drug screen and MVR check.
• Must have unrestricted work authorization in the United States.
