The Photographer/Editor is responsible for the set up and operation of audio and video equipment including video cameras, microphones, video monitors, recording equipment including connecting wires and cables, lighting and related equipment. Utilizes video equipment to gather video and interviews for news stories.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Actively and consistently supports all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience.
Shoot and edit daily news assignments for broadcast and digital platforms meeting tight deadlines.
Conduct interviews when necessary in the story gathering process.
Gather all elements needed for story.
Put together story packages; shoot VO’s, SOT’s.
Operate cellular driven transmission/live streaming equipment.
Communicate with News management on a regular basis, including when out in the field.
Partner with Multimedia Journalists as needed.
Manage general upkeep of assigned company vehicle and equipment.
Work with video newsgathering equipment such as lighting, microphones, and tripods.
Understand file based media management for in the field content sharing.
Responsible for representing the station in a professional manner.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Skills/Abilities and Knowledge
Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
Ability to work on problems with moderate scope
Ability to work on assignments that are semi-routine in nature but require occasional deviation from accepted practice
Ability to work on assignments that require some judgment within prescribed guidelines
Ability to work with moderate degree of supervision
Intermediate level proficiency in appropriate software applications or technology
Ability to work under pressure during live breaking news
Thorough knowledge of operation policies and procedures
Ability to handle various tasks simultaneously, organize, prioritize, make decisions and work efficiently and effectively under deadlines
Valid driver’s license for authorized driving in the State of residence
Editing knowledge, Non-Linear skills
Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience
1+ years shooting and editing television news footage experience

Varying schedule due to, breaking news and/or daily news coverage requirements
Provide 24x7, 365 days per year, on-call support. May entail phone or physical presence at the facility for equipment failure or other disasters. This includes, but is not limited to equipment and power failures, loss of contracted services, storms or severe weather, and schedule conflicts
Participation in an established on-call rotation
