About this Position
The Video Editor position performs a wide variety of video and audio post-production operations, including editing both long and short form video, audio editing and mixing, graphic design and motion graphics animation, and green-screen keying and other forms of compositing. This position works closely with assigned producers and managers to produce creative and instructional videos meeting the quality standards and workflow requirements of the department. This position requires creativity but also a strong adherence to technical specifications.
Responsibilities & Qualifications
REQUIRED DOCUMENTS:
Submission of Video Editing demo reel
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
3+ year experience in corporate communications or broadcast environment
Advanced knowledge of Adobe Suite including Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop, and Media Encoder
Experience following broadcast standards and standardized workflows
Experience designing and producing motion graphics
Experience chroma-keying, and compositing and animating multiple on-screen elements
Experience editing and mixing multiple tracks of audio, including voiceovers, music and sound effects
Experience interpreting video formats and rendering to required codecs, resolutions and bitrates; must be familiar with Apple ProRes formats and H.264 formats
Strong project management skills
Experience editing from proxy videos and relinking media
Creativity and strong story-telling skills
Excellent time-management ability
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
Very strong attention to detail
Excellent problem solving and judgment skills
Ability to turn short form projects around very quickly, the same day if required
Ability to work independently on long projects for days at a time while staying on schedule and following the given instructions of a producer
Ability and willingness to work evenings and weekends on occasion
ADDITIONAL ABILITIES:
Ability to travel as needed
Experience with Mac workstations a plus; our department is Mac-only
Experience in a live production environment a plus
Fluency in Spanish or French a plus
Experience with a Financial Services or Insurance company a plus
Presently, position requires have the ability to work independently from home, given access to media servers via VPN. Once the company allows the video production department back into the office, all team members should be prepared to work in the office full-time.
