What you’ll do:
  • Work collaboratively, creatively, and strategically with Oprah Winfrey, as well as OWN and Harpo, on revenue-generating projects and partnerships
  • Work with relevant Hearst teams to leverage membership and maximize commerce revenue
  • Develop unique, impactful, monetizable brand extensions
  • Work closely with the sales team to identify opportunities and activate audience-facing staff such as Gayle King and Adam Glassman, as well as Oprah Winfrey
  • Lead strategy and align teams within matrixed organization to deliver against aggressive OKRs for the Oprah Daily articles/content team and Oprah’s Book Club, leading the staff to generate fresh, engaging story ideas and content across digital, social, video and membership channels
  • Work with the executive managing editor to manage operations for the content team, creating all workflows for cross-functional teams (digital editorial, social, video, site operations, membership experience, and newsletter)
  • Lead brand messaging and collaborate with brand stakeholders to hone the brand’s voice and mission and push the brand in scope and audience engagement
  • Work closely with the newsletter team to leverage email lists and convert to membership
  • Liaise with all cross-functional teams across Hearst to ensure alignment on all projects
Who you are:
  • You have 12+ years of experience working for an editorial brand, ideally in the lifestyle space or at a service-oriented brand
  • You are a strong editorial thinker who can build on a successful heritage brand and push it creatively
  • You have deep experience leading a team and can create a collaborative environment that allows staff members to shine
  • You have experience working with brand stakeholders who bring different perspectives to the process
  • You have experience with new revenue streams and are constantly thinking about what comes next
  • You are a self-starter with enthusiasm for juggling the many shifting priorities that come with leading a brand
