This position is solely responsible for identifying, casting, negotiating, and hiring high level talent for all Dancers, Specialty Dancers, Adagio/Aerial Teams, Specialty Acts, Atmospheric Performers, Edenists, Sketch Artist and any other Dancer/Specialty Acts which may be added into the Entertainment program for Celebrity Cruises Inc.

Job Description

This position is directly related to the ultimate guest experience and ratings when it pertains to any of the Entertainment/Theater venues onboard and is vital to the overall daily operations of the Entertainment Production

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible for sourcing, vetting, hiring, and scheduling all dancers and specialty artists for Celebrity Cruises Inc.
• Focusing on diversity and inclusion in all sourcing of new talent.
• Solely casts and confirms all replacement contracts to include booking cabins, requesting costumers, confirm valid & approved medicals, passports, or any additional documentation.
• Analyzes talent under contract; to ensure highest quality standards are always being met including following show reporting systems and guest rating trends to support and improve the entertainment product.
• Analyzes and identifies problems with product and performers while attending rehearsals to maintain the highest quality standards. Generate progress report for each dancer in conjunction with the Install Director and Aerial Trainer assigned to project and handle all dancer disciplinary actions and procedures (verbal & written warnings& terminations) during rehearsals.
• Works with other Casting Specialists to conduct Interviews and confirms the cast leadership positions. Will meet with all Captains/Coordinators to go over the responsibilities and guidelines for each position prior to boarding the vessel & will acquire the signed job description addendums for performers.
• Works with Vocal Casting Specialist on running year-round auditions to cast high-level talent of dancers and specialty artist positions to meet and exceed the level of entertainment required by Celebrity Cruises Inc. Promotes audition and casting calls in industry leading publications and social media outlets across the globe.
• Works with Vocal Casting Specialist on audition pre-selection process, which includes but not limited to creating casting breakdowns for spotlight, breakdown express, etc.; vetting talent prior to audition; setting up and attending workshops (where applicable).
• Works with Vocal Casting Specialist to create and lead vision for all marketing materials and social media initiatives,
• Will oversee CCI Entertainment social media platforms (instagram, facebook, etc.) and assist with the management of the CCI Entertainment website content. • Will create casting presentations of each cast line-up for approval and present to Lead, Casting Specialist and Senior Manager.
• Work with creative teams to create audition material (callback, casting notice, etc.) which aligns with the chorographical vision of Celebrity Cruises.
• Works with Vocal Casting Specialist, in providing leadership, guidance, direction, and support to dance, aerial and vocal captains during rehearsals and onboard contract.
• Focus on sourcing local talent options for Celebrity Cruises events (i.e. - Pride, CLIA, etc.).
• Oversee the creation of headshot boards for each cast prior to rehearsal start date.
• Strong administrative skill set needed to build and upkeep casting grids, databases, powerpoints, and spreadsheets.
• Work closely with Senior Manager, Theatrical Production and Creative Teams regarding new show concepts, existing or New Builds regarding show content, choreography, blocking and direction before all shows are finalized and documented. • This position may have other duties as assigned by Manager.

FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Use knowledge of the entertainment industry to make cost conscious recommendations on purchase of necessary production supplies, vendor labor and travel, while remaining within department budget.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in a related field.
• Seven to Ten years of experience in the entertainment industry.
• Cruise industry experience, both shipboard and shoreside are required.
• Successful experience working on projects with shoreside and shipboard personnel pertaining to various aspects productions/entertainment of the cruise industry

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

• Extensive knowledge of Dance, Gymnastics/Acrobatics; Floor Work, Aerial Work: One- & TwoPoint Harness, Bungee, Silks, Lyra, Straps, Hand Balance, Adagio, Contortion, Atmospheric Performance Skills, Ballroom Dancing, Aerial Strength Skills/Training. Past performance experience is a must in this position.
• In Depth knowledge of current library of Production Shows to include understanding of talent requirements and tracking.
• Excellent communications skills and strong decision-making abilities.
• Excellent understanding of policies and procedures regarding work ethics, hiring and termination of personnel.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
• Software: working knowledge of personal computers within a Windows environment with email, Microsoft Word, Excel & PowerPoint, and related printers and equipment.
• Must have good problem-solving skills and ability to manage last minute emergencies in a calm and organized manner.
• Knowledge in negotiation process.
• Proficient verbal and written communications skills, ability to read and interpret business documents, instructions, and related media material; able to write and generate reports and procedures.
• Knowledgeable in recruiting and selecting cast members.
• Able to conduct presentations and communicate with senior management, groups, employees, client, and the public.
• Knowledgeable of necessary documentation and other travel requirements for cast members.
• Knowledgeable of all contract specifics to provide details to new cast members.
• Ability to work, interact and communicate with internal/external personnel at all levels, able to build and maintain successful business relationships throughout the department and the company as a whole.
• Reasonable knowledge of computer programs listed above, and the ability to develop and install computer applications to existing and new programs.
• Ability to think critically, use independent judgment and exercise decision-making skills.

Physical Demands:

While performing job functions the employee is regularly required to sit, and stand, write, review and type reports, compile data, operate a pc, communicate, listen, and assess information. The employee may move about the office complex, may travel to other office locations and may lift, push, pull or move 10-15 pounds. The employee is occasionally required to walk to the dock, ascend and descend the vessel. This position may regularly travel domestically or internationally. Visual requirements include distant, close and color vision, and ability to adjust focus. Work Environment: The work environment for this position can be loud at times due to high level of music required for running rehearsals or shows. A high noise level is possible for visiting shipboard or offsite locations. The position includes work inside/outside the office, travel to other offices, as well as domestic, international, and shipboard travel. Able to work long hours and weekends when required. Able to travel if required. Travel Requirements: Position travels approximately 40% of the time on ships & audition tours. This individual will work a minimum of 60% of time in the Miami
