A Senior Finishing Preditor finishes promotional content to be distributed across various global platforms. A Finishing Preditor must be versatile, able to handle the wide variety of jobs that flow through a finishing bay.
Responsibilities include color-grading shoot content, localizing content for world-wide distribution, adding messaging to versions, adhering social/digital media safe zones and delivery specs., and ensuring the technical quality of any content being created. A Senior Finishing Preditor is an experienced video editor who is a leader within the finishing department.
Responsibilities
• Finish creatively approved marketing content for delivery to various distribution platforms; including social media, theatrical promotion, and linear broadcast
• Work closely with multiple departments to ensure that projects are delivered accurately, on time, and with creative intent intact
• Ability to deliver exceptional color-correction to unfinished shoot content
• High level of knowledge producing marketing materials for the digital space
• Engage active knowledge of Adobe Premiere CC and companion applications throughout every project
• Compose multi-layer segments in After Effects and adapt pre-render compositions in collaboration with the Design team as part of the finishing process
• Understand and interpret revisions throughout entire approval process within short timeframes
• Generate and ingest from OMF, AAF, EDL, XML files and other media transport bundles to initiate projects and transfer projects to other editing systems
• Utilize broadcast signal equipment to measure & evaluate video, audio, and metadata content to match outgoing delivery requirements and SMPTE, ATSC, NTSC recommended practices
• Lead, guide and council other members of the finishing team
Qualifications & Skills
• Bachelor’s Degree (or similar work experience) with emphasis in Film, Digital Media and/or Television Production required. 10+ contiguous years of contemporary employment in broadcast Post-Production as a video editor/producer for content placed to national distribution networks whether for advertising agency clients; and/or a nationally distributed broadcast or cable network service
• Proven national level advertising and programming editorial and graphic design use experience, manifest in a professionally produced reel
• Superior time management skills in a time sensitive environment essential
• Ability to juggle multiple priorities as a team player and on an individual basis
• Outstanding communication skills
