Job Description
This position focuses on resolving daily issues as well as working with artists and supervisors to help optimize the render workflows. You will be a great fit if you are a VFX artist with a desire to evolve in a more technical way. A problem solver at heart, you know the intricacies of your favorite software, and you have a passion for optimizing scenes.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities
- Help optimize artists’ scenes from Houdini, Maya and Nuke to render successfully and to maximize efficiency on the farm
- Debug and repair shots and scenes related to asset creation, shot assembly, lighting, rendering, and other disciplines
- Provide troubleshooting for day-to-day problems and issues on the farm
- Utilize currently available tools to solve pipeline issues and help to develop new tools to address recurring issues
- Identify technical issues from tickets and address them directly or work with the Pipeline team to resolve them
- Interact with production department and artists to facilitate the sharing of new tools and techniques
- Generate reports regarding render and pipeline statistics
- Improve the quality and efficiency of rendering to ensure deadlines are met
Requirements
- Experience working on VFX productions preferred
- Experience debugging other users’ scene files and renders
- Ability to troubleshoot and work independently on projects without supervision
- Thorough understanding of the various technical and creative aspects of VFX production
Nice-to-Have
- Basic Python scripting skills
- Experience with Deadline preferred
