Summary

The Video Production Specialist will work within the Learning & Development (L&D) team to develop in-house instructional videos to be utilized throughout the organization for educational purposes. The Specialist will contribute to all aspects of the video creation process, from planning, script writing, storyboarding, filming/recording content and editing. This position will require, at times, the need to complete small video projects from beginning to end without assistance from other video professionals. Experience in the full workstream of the video production process will be required. The ability to travel is a must as many of the video capturing events will be in the field at various locations around the country.

Job Description

The Video Production Specialist will work within the Learning & Development (L&D) team to develop in-house instructional videos to be utilized throughout the organization for educational purposes. The Specialist will contribute to all aspects of the video creation process, from planning, script writing, storyboarding, filming/recording content and editing. This position will require, at times, the need to complete small video projects from beginning to end without assistance from other video professionals. Experience in the full workstream of the video production process will be required. The ability to travel is a must as many of the video capturing events will be in the field at various locations around the country.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS (List in order of priority)
  • Do pre-production planning for video projects
  • Capture footage required for instructional, explainer and how-to based tutorial videos
  • Edit captured video to tell concise and visually pleasing story for training purposes
  • Setup and breakdown of video and audio recording equipment, including lighting and related support equipment and stands.
  • Work with subject matter experts (SME) to develop storyboards and scripts for video projects
  • Offer direction to people to capture specific action for camera
  • Work with instructional design team to ensure training courses compliment training videos
  • Collaborate with marketing and communications to support  branding for the creation of videos and animations for the purpose of L&D initiatives
  • Organize and manage large amount video files for easy retrieval for other projects and team members
  • Manipulate and edit voice recordings, music or sound effects to suite video action and length
  • Record learning events and activities for ongoing reference materials
  • Assist with monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of video and digital learning experiences
  • Upload video content to cloud-based video host such as YouTube, Vimeo, Microsoft Stream
  • Assist with still photography related to learning events
  • Assist and engage in the research, procurement, and use of all video recording, voice-over and photography devices
  • Support virtual learning events leveraging Microsoft Teams and live video feeds
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES
  • Set-up, configuration, tuning of camera systems. Familiarity with both DSLR and professional camcorders is required
  • Advanced knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects; familiarity with other Adobe Creative Suite applications
  • Experience with Live, multi-camera streaming video production
  • Experience with screen recording software to capture online system training
  • Understanding of broadcast lighting fundamentals for video production
  • Have a strong background in the entire post-production process: editing, graphic design, animation, audio mixing, color grading, photo retouching, etc.
  • Display an artistic and aesthetic sense of communicating ideas in visual form
  • Process-oriented problem solver who can execute tasks to completion on tight deadlines
  • Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • Strong interpersonal, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
  • Proven communication skills, with well-developed verbal and written abilities
  • Strong work ethic, intellectual curiosity, good judgment, mature, and positive attitude
  • Ability to perform in fast-paced, high-pressure environment
        REQUIRED WORK EXPERIENCE
  • At least five years of video, film or television production in a broadcast, corporate or education setting, of which includes hands-on experience with video production equipment
        REQUIRED EDUCATION, TRAINING, CERTIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a technical discipline or equivalent work experience
     
    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience with 3D software such as 3DS Max or Cinema 4D a plus
  • Advanced knowledge of video switching and production systems
  • Livestreaming experience for events such as, virtual classrooms.
