Job Description

As part of the MarCom team, the Videographer will possess a marketing mindset and the ability to conceptualize, design, and create video productions for the University’s various marketing initiatives. This is an in-person, full-time, twelve-month position with full benefits who reports to the Senior Creative Director.

Primary Duties:
  • Work closely with the Senior Creative Director to implement the creative vision and direction for University partners and objectives.
  • Execute different types of video productions including live action, motion graphics, intro and exit slates, lower thirds, animation, variable data video, and CG.
  • Manage the process from the pre-production to post-production including all details to support various project requirements such as props, wardrobe, casting, editing, music, licensing content, and digital asset management.
  • Serve as caretaker for the department’s various cameras, lenses, microphones, and other accessories.
  • Collaborate with the creative team helping to contribute to and support creative ideas.
  • Assist with the design of a variety of communications including online, mobile and sometimes print.
  • Direct third-party resources and ensure the delivery and receiving of all assets.
  • Attend and/or assist with University events as needed.
  • Serve on University Committees, ad hoc committees, etc. as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements:
  • A keen eye for detail and a well-developed artistic and creative aesthetic.
  • At least two years of experience in video production.
  • Experience producing marketing video including knowledge of digital video camera operation, encoding software and hardware.
  • Experience in video production including planning, lighting, framing, audio acquisition, editing, encoding and other elements.
  • Knowledge of mixing and editing video and audio for broadcast output.
  • Experience working in non-linear video editing; Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe After Effects, AVID Media Composer or Final Cut Pro.
  • Knowledge and experience working with digital archives and archival processes.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in other Adobe Creative Suite applications, primarily Photoshop and Lightroom
  • Well organized with attention to detail and ability to follow-through.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills.

  • Understanding and commitment to a liberal arts education, including the ability to relate to a liberal arts faculty.
  • Ability to attend work consistently and maintain a regular work schedule.
Preferred Requirements:
  • 2 plus years of experience in camera operation, film editing and program productions.
  • Bachelor’s degree or coursework in multimedia-related discipline (film, design, advertising, art, music, photography, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of visual/graphic design principles and color theory.
  • Prior experience working in higher education (or producing work for a higher education client), preferably a selective liberal arts institution.
