Production Assistant

 

THE ROLE

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who has a strong interest in learning the production process in a fun and exciting office. You must be a motivated, hard worker who learns quickly and can work on several projects concurrently. The perfect candidate will be a self-starter, without ego and has a strong curiosity and interest in our industry.

PRODUCTION & PRE-PRODUCTION

Project organization by ensure all elements are acquired from clients and organized in job folders on the internal server
Digital asset management and organization
Prep Photoshop and Illustrator flies for CG and Flame pipeline
Transcode video from various digital cameras (RED, Arri Alexa, Phantom, etc.)
Assist Flame and CG artists with conforms and outputs as well as assisting Editors who work with Avid and Premier
Diligent and thorough note taking
Prep files, graphic elements, slates, and tiles for use in Flame
Create XMLs and EDL
Keep regular backups of workstations
Scheduling and coordinating internal and external meetings
Assist in resourcing creative talent
File postings for client review
Assist in project expense reconciliation including vendor invoices and receipts
Client service support and, occasional, runs, when necessary
Ensure statuses, task assignments and scope changes are kept up-to-date per the instruction for each producer
Record all shot notes (client, dailies, rounds or reviews)
Ensure all team members have entered in weekly hours

DELIVERY

Media outputs and compressions
File posting
Assist in technical QC with high accuracy before assets are delivered to client
Organizing files for final delivery
Assist in project wrap and archiving

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign
QuickTime Pro
DVD Studio Pro
FTP programs
Knowledge of Flame/Nuke a plus as is knowledge of Avid and Premiere
Know file formats and compression methods and practices
Familiarity with both file based delivery
Technical proficiency and familiarity with basic system admin tools and processes
Strong working knowledge of a Machine Room
Installation of software on Mac and PC
Prepping XML and AAF sequences for conform in Flame
Knowledge of roto and clean up a plus
Flexible attitude to workflow and schedule
Knowledge of Flame/Nuke, Avid, Premiere, and Roto/Clean Up is a plus
Highly motivated with a good work ethic and extreme attention to detail
