Job Description

QVC, Inc., the world’s pre-eminent electronic retailer, is looking for a sharp college student for an internship opportunity with the Online Marketing team.  This position is located at QVC's corporate headquarters in West Chester, PA.  Only currently enrolled students are eligible for this position.

The Affiliate Marketing Intern will support the Performance Marketing team. This position requires strong analytical and creative skills, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and a strong desire to work with digital advertising.

Must be a current junior, senior, or graduate student and be able to work 20 hours/week.

We are looking for a dynamic, high performing Affiliate Marketing intern looking for experience in implementing and executing effective paid campaigns. The ideal candidate has a passion for retail, telling a brand story through paid media, and can keep up with the ever-changing Affiliate and Content channels.
  • Exercises independent decision making relative to the details of assigned projects. Willingly takes on additional tasks in both familiar as well as developing areas.
  • Willing to understand copywriting with legal reviews when needed – should also provide clear direction for teams that are writing copy.
  • Responsible for identifying QVC business opportunities that can be parlayed into success across the Affiliate and Content channels.
  • Accountable for accurate and timely execution of digital marketing campaigns and escalating delays to Manager
  • Develop and build relationships with internal QVC Merchandising, e-commerce, Creative, Operations, and Planning teams
  • Experience working with data analytics tools (Google Analytics, Impact Radius, Coremetrics) with little supervision or direction
  • Excellent project management and organizational/time management skills with specific attention to detail
  • Ability to work cross-functionally within the online marketing team as well as within eMarketing as part of the Affiliate Marketing team.
  • Ability to make independent decisions
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills as well as the ability to articulate clearly and effectively over the phone, through email, and in writing. Must be an active team player within a cross-functional team. Ability to effectively interact with people and work in a team environment
  • Understanding of general business concepts and the QVC business model
Affiliate Marketing Duties may include:
  • Run daily/weekly/monthly reports
  • Update and build out new and existing campaigns
  • Assist Coordinators with campaign maintenance (landing page audits, checking for outdated ad copy, ad screenshots, seasonal copy updates, etc.)
  • Assist with marketing trend research (competitive industry trends, celebrity partners, product/retailing trends, etc.)
  • Work with other .com departments to help gather creative assets as needed for new promotions and campaigns
  • Use analytics programs to discover potential opportunities for exposure on the web
  • Regular ad hoc reporting and administrative tasks as required
Qualifications & Requirements:
  • Basic understanding of the Online Marketing channels of performance marketing, comparison shopping engines, display advertising, email marketing, and social media (facebook, instagram, twitter)
  • Firm understanding of basic marketing principles (ROAS, customer segmentation, etc)
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize assignments daily
  • Ability to follow directions closely and work independently
  • Strong eye for detail
  • Strong proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint and Word
  • Experience within Tableau Software, Microstrategy, Coremetrics is a plus but not required
  • Professional corporate demeanor
