ABC News is looking to hire a dynamic and motivated Anchor Assistant to join the team!
What You Will Do
- Liaising with editorial and production staff across the network
- Excellent note taking for meetings and/or transcription
- Researching short and long term story ideas
- Assisting with booking for potential guests and experts
- Assisting with shoot logistics on productions
- Fielding phone calls and responding to email correspondence
- Managing calendars and facilitating scheduling obligations
- Organizing and booking extensive travel; completing expenses
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Minimum one year of experience working in a broadcast news environment, such as a college newsroom or news station
- Strong organizational and communication skills required
- Must be able to multitask and prioritize responsibilities
- Must be willing to have a flexible schedule including working weekends and holidays when necessary
- Candidates are expected to perform well under pressure
Preferred Qualifications
- Confidence with social media platforms
- Strong interest in news, current events, and the editorial process
Education
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
The hiring range for this position in New York, NY is $48,900 to $67,200 per year based on a 40 hour work week.
