Be part of a winning team with a diverse culture that believes in supporting, mentoring, and training our staff. We are currently searching for an Assignment Editor. 

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Organize and manage news crew
  • Listen to scanners and respond as needed
  • Make decisions on what stories to cover and assign/dispatch crews
  • Assign and dispatch crews for news vehicles including ENG/CNG vehicles
  • Attend and participate in editorial meetings. Provide suggestions for stories. 
  • Problem solving and decision making
  • Responsible for daily sorting and distribution of incoming department email
  • Professionally, respectfully and courteously answer incoming calls  
  • Keep news staff apprised of breaking news and changes in assignments
  • Must be able to work in a fast paced environment
  • Must be well organized and able to manage multiple things at once
  • Work varied hours, holidays, weekends as needed and/or scheduled
Minimum Requirements:
  • High school diploma is required; 4-year College degree is preferred. 
  • Candidate should have at least 3 years in news.  
  • Excellent communication skills are required. 
Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is: $38.94-44.16 per hour for California.
