Job Description

The Department of Film, Communication, and Performing Arts in the College of Arts and Sciences at Clayton State University seeks applicants for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in the area of Film Production to begin in January 2024.  

Responsibilities
  • Teach a variety of production courses in the Film major  
  • Engage in scholarly activity leading to presentation and publication and/or juried artistic creations  
  • Participate in service to the department, college, university, and community  
  • The position reports to the Chair of the Department of Film, Communication, and Performing Arts (FCPA) and will begin in January 2024. Salary will be commensurate with experience and competitive with comparable programs.  
Required Qualifications
  • A doctorate or M.F.A. in Film Production or related field 
  • Successful college-level teaching experience at the undergraduate level
Preferred Qualifications
  • 3 years or more of industry experience  
  • Experience with project-based teaching methods  
  • Specialization in Producing and/or Directing  
  • Experience teaching Screenwriting and/or Storyboarding
