Job Description
CBS Mornings is seeking a hard-working, creative, and enterprising overnight Associate Producer with proven writing experience and strong research abilities! This person will have a firm command of journalistic standards, a keen attention to detail, and excellent newsgathering skills. They must also be calm and efficient during breaking news and a collaborative member of the newsroom. This role is responsible for producing day-of-air packages and correspondent two-ways. The ideal candidate will have experience working with correspondents on daily output. They must also have a mastery of conceptualizing graphics and creative scripting that works for both television and digital.
Skills/Experience:
- At least 3 years TV news experience
- Strong editorial judgement and strong writing skills
- Ability to prepare copy and packages for air
- Experience crafting and building graphics
- Understanding of newsgathering and transmission technology
- Exercise editorial judgment and pitch late breaking developments
- Must be willing and able to work a Sunday through Thursday overnight schedule
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience working directly with correspondents
- Shown interest in politics
- Familiarity producing across platforms
