Gray Television's National Investigative Team is seeking a current college student who can work full-time for ten weeks in our unit.
About the Investigative Team:
InvestigateTV is Gray Television's award-winning National Investigative Team. The ten-member team produces investigations that air on more than 100 local television stations across the U.S. and on our Apple TV, AmazonFireTV and Roku channel, InvestigateTV. The team travels around the country working on in-depth, investigative stories that have prompted changes in government and law enforcements programs. Most recently, the team was honored with two National Headliner Awards for environmental reporting and health/science reporting and the NAB Service to America award for its documentary on hate crimes reporting.
This position is remote, and reliable internet access is necessary. The candidate should have a strong desire to hold the powerful accountable, an eye for accuracy and a love for digging into data and documents. This is not a coffee-ordering gig. This is a temporary paid job that offers real-world journalism experience while learning from a team of award-winning investigative reporters. The ideal candidate will work 40 hours per week - usually during standard business hours.
This remote position is geared toward current college students majoring in journalism or related programs. The position involves research, filing records requests and assisting the national team with stories that go out to Gray's local television stations in 114 markets.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Student majoring in any medium - not just TV - are encouraged to apply.
- FOI and data skills are a plus.
- Passion is a must.
- This is a temporary, summer assignment.
- Candidate will work 40 hours per week.
- Pre-employment drug screen required.
