Job Description

*Please note- this is an early morning shift starting at 3:30 AM ET.

Responsibilities could include but are not limited to:
  • Working with Executive Producer, Senior Producers, Producers and News
  • Assistants to produce CNBC Business News program Assisting with the coordination of elements for daily business program
  • Writing copy for daily segments Be responsible for writing and producing content for the show’s social media
  • Being resourceful and creative in helping to deliver the program’s message, including use of clips and graphics
  • Finding background information on a wide range of business and financial news stories using a variety of sources such as the internet, newspapers and magazines
  • Research segment ideas and segment information as directed by the Producer and Senior Producer of the show
  • Assisting in the booking of guests
  • Assisting producers with story production and pre-interviews
  • Helping oversee edits for taped projects

Qualifications
Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in journalism or business or equivalent
  • At least 2 years of production experience
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to work with others under tight deadlines
  • Must be a self-starter and able to make quick, editorially sound decisions while remaining calm under pressure
  • Ideal candidate must be able to multi-task and have experience working in live television
  • Possess ability to develop story ideas, research and plan segments
  • Exceptional editorial skills: ability to recognize stories with high potential for provocative, compelling television
  • Knowledge of current events, politics and pop culture
  • Up to date on periodicals
  • Strong writing skills
  • Strong time management
  • Highly organized and detail oriented
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Experience with iNews
Desired Characteristics:

•  Interest in, and proficiency with, social media is a plus
•  Business news knowledge is a plus
