Job Description

CNBC is looking for an Associate Producer for Squawk Box. You will work in a live news control room and play an integral part of covering the most significant financial stories of the day.  

*Please Note: This is an early morning shift Monday- Friday 4 AM to 12 PM 

Responsibilities:
  • Producing elements for various guest and reporter segments during a daily business program.
  • Managing the show’s social media accounts.   This includes writing and posting text and video clips during the live show.
  • Writing copy for daily segments
  • Being resourceful and creative in helping to deliver the program’s message, including use of clips and graphics 
  • Finding background information on a wide range of business and financial news stories using a variety of sources such as the internet, newspapers and magazines 
  • Researching segment ideas and segment information as directed 
  • Assisting in the booking of guests 
  • Assisting producers with story production and pre-interviews 
  • Helping oversee edits for taped projects 
Qualifications
What you'll bring:
  • Bachelor’s degree in journalism or business; or an equivalent degree  
  • At least 2 years of television production experience 
  • Experience with independently developing own story ideas, conducting research, and planning show segments 
  • Must be willing and able to work flexible hours, under tight deadline pressure, including breaking news. Schedules will rotate, but must be able to work all shifts, including weekends and overnights.  
  • Must be able to work additional hours beyond scheduled shift with little or no notice, if needed.
