BROADCAST TECHNICIAN (PT)

KREM TV CBS / KSKN TV CW, the TEGNA stations in Spokane, Washington has an opening for a part-time Broadcast Technician. You will be responsible operating studio and control room equipment for a live newscast. Also responsible for preparing the studio for live newscast and assist in commercial or field productions. Responsible for automation prep of programming, commercial, and promotional materials for KREM and KSKN TV. This position is PT 32 hours per week, individual contributor, union position that reports to the Broadcast Supervisor.

Responsibilities:

•  Prepare the studio for live shows, making sure all guests and team members have microphones and resources needed.
•  Operate handheld cameras for live production when assigned.
•  Operate audio board for live production when assigned.
•  Download and prepare programming, commercials, and promotional materials for air.
•  Assist in the production of News promotions.

Job Requirements:

•  Minimum one year of experience working in the industry or equivalent
•  Excellent communication and computer skills
•  Ability to prioritize and manage requests from various sources with an ability to work well with varied personalities within deadlines
•  Outstanding interpersonal, organizational, and time-management skills
•  Valid Washington Driver’s License and good driving record, able to lift up to 40 lbs.
•  Ability to work varied shifts including holidays, nights and weekends

Travel: Rarely: less than 10%
Work Environment Set: Office: normally performed in a typical interior/office environment
Physical Demands Set: Light work: Involves sitting most of the time, walking, lifting, bending, standing, etc.
