Job Description

Responsibilities: The Photographer/Editor is responsible for shooting and editing all elements of news stories for daily network news broadcasts.
  • Creatively visualizes stories told by reporters and producers utilizing HD camera and expert lighting
  • Responsible for photographing and editing news and feature stories
  • Collaborates with Producers and Reporters for series, special reports, and/or long form content
  • Assists Reporters and Producers in the pre and post production process
  • Responsible for maintaining equipment in good working condition at all times
  • Works under the direct supervision of the Sr. Director News Operations & Production and is responsible for completing any other tasks as assigned by supervisor
Basic Qualifications: 
  • Minimum 5 years of experience working as Photographer/Camera Operator in the field
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as an Editor
  • Proven experience managing and/or assisting live transmissions via LiveU, satellite trucks 
  • Prior experience and thorough understanding on how to send stories via wireless technology
  • Proven proficiency using Avid Media composer and Mac operating system
  • Proven proficiency using Sony HD series professional broadcast cameras
  • Proven experience and proficiency in managing HD lighting and shot composition
  • Must be fully fluent in English and Spanish (both written and verbal)
Eligibility Requirements: 
  • Willingness to travel with short notice and on weekends
  • Willingness to work flexible hours including late and/or last-minute scheduling changes in a 24/7 production work environment
  • Must be willing to work in Mexico.
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States.
  • Must be covered by Solutions, NBCU’s Alternative Dispute Resolution Program
