Job Description
Get hands on experience in how to plan and execute a daily Chicago Lifestyle Show.

Intern will work side by side with producers in researching story ideas, local activities, and citizens of note. You’ll be tasked with research and gathering content, among other responsibilities. You’ll also be giving opportunities to pitch show ideas, edit, write, and eventually produce you own segment on our show. This internship will help you develop your ability to see individual stories and a whole show come together, grow your writing and editorial judgment, as well as absorb a tremendous amount of production knowledge. There will also be opportunities to help on field shots.

Spring 2024 Internship Program: 
  • Applications Close: November 17, 2023 at 11:59pm CT. Pro Tip: Submit your application as soon as possible – don't delay! 
  • Program Dates: January 22 – April 12, 2024
  • Time Commitment: 16-24 hours per week. Exact schedule to be determined based on business need. We will do our best to accommodate course schedules. 
  • Internships at NBCUniversal are paid and do not require course credit
  • Recent graduates will NOT be eligible for this program

Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
  • Must be actively enrolled in a degree-granting program at an accredited institution during the length of the program and be able to provide documentation to confirm your degree progress
  • Current class standing of sophomore or above (30 credits).
  • Studying journalism/media
  • Basic video editing skills
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship by NBCUniversal
  • IN-PERSON must be willing to work in Chicago, IL
Desired Characteristics:
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above
  • Students with class standing of junior or above preferred
  • Must have strong writing ability, good content judgement, creativity and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
