Job Description
We are hiring an HR Recruiter/Generalist to work in Durham. This person will assist with the implementation of human resources programs by providing human resources services, including recruitment and staffing; employment processing; health and welfare benefits; training and development; records management; safety and health; and employee relations.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee and monitor the recruitment and hiring activities including maintaining liaisons with schools, associations, and recruiters; developing recruitment materials; work with managers for appropriate cost-effective advertising of openings; and participation in career fairs; and interviewing candidates.
- Coordinate with staff on the recruitment of non-profit groups that can be used to supplement the existing seasonal workers.
- Manage relationship with staffing companies on seasonal hiring needs to include staffing and time clock management.
- Research local market and national surveys to identify appropriate rates of pay for seasonal staff and advise VPs and Business Manager when changes are needed.
- Coordinate hiring process to include assisting managers with requisitions, posting, placing recruitment advertising, reviewing resume database, notifying unsuccessful candidates.
- Prepare and submit new hire screenings (background, drug, education verification) and notify hiring manager when complete and approved for hire.
- Conduct new hire orientations to include benefit enrollment.
- Coordinate year-round trainee/internship program.
- Assist with creating and implementing a seasonal employee recognition program.
- Assist employees, supervisors, and managers to settle work-related conflicts and/or performance issues through advice and recommendation.
- Assist with employee relations counseling, internal investigations, and exit interviewing.
- Develop and administer work/life and wellness programs designed to support employee needs.
- Assist with compliance of federal, state, and local legal requirements by enforcing adherence to requirements with particular focus on EEO, HIPAA, ACA, and OSHA compliance.
- Assist with planning and execution of company functions to include Health Fair, employee social functions, and seasonal job fairs.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related field.
- 5 or more years of experience in human resources, specifically in benefits administration or recruitment.
- Human Resources and or Benefits certification preferred (i.e., PHR, SPHR, SHRM-SCP, SHRM-CP, CEBS)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Thorough understanding of all benefits related laws and statutes.
- Proficiency of Microsoft Suite, including Word and Excel.
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
