Job Description

This individual will also perform duties in the areas of satellite dish uplink/downlink set-up, and other visual and aural associated duties.  

The Broadcast Operator will maintain the quality and integrity of microwave, satellite, fiber-optic and broadcast signals, coordinate live shots during newscasts, switch local and network programming, record local and satellite feed materials and communicate with other departments throughout the station. 

Requirements:
  • Knowledge of, and ability to manage, isci codes as well as the capability to log, key, and manage numbers/letter sequences are essential.  
  • Must be knowledgeable of Windows based platforms, have computer automation experience, be able to read digital vector scopes, understand transmitter power, and satellite transmission/receiver operations.
  • Practical, quick decision-making abilities, excellent communication skills, and a passion for personal growth are required.
  • Must be able to work first, second and third shift as needed.  
  • This is a part-time position, 20 hours per week.
  •  A college degree or equivalent related experience at a commercial television station with emphasis in the areas of master control, quality control, and production preferred.
