Job Description
Big Ten Network is searching for a Digital Content Coordinator to join their team in Chicago, IL. As the Digital Content Coordinator, you will be responsible for covering live Big Ten sports and creating content for all our social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, X & YouTube). You will also be tasked with coordinating the daily content and freelance photography schedules. In addition, you may be asked to travel to tentpole Big Ten events.
A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee and maintain live event schedule document for content team
- Lead real-time live coverage of Big Ten games across all seasons and all sports
- Work closely with graphic designers to craft best-in-class social coverage visuals
- Produce and post platform-specific content (Instagram, TikTok, Twitter/X, Facebook, YouTube shorts)
- Monitor Big Ten Network studio shows for digital content ideas
- Care deeply about college sports and track daily news and developing stories
- Help distribute Big Ten Network Originals programming and other sponsored content to social channels
- Help outline freelance photography schedule
- Help cover breaking news, including press conferences and on-site tentpole events
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
- 1+ years of experience in social media, communications, or marketing
- Possess a deep knowledge of Big Ten athletics
- Familiar with Big Ten Network’s programming, talent, and brand initiatives
- Organized, detailed-oriented, proactive, and a team player
- Detailed knowledge and experience on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, X & YouTube
- Strong handle of grammar, punctuation, syntax, and a social media voice
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a keen editorial sense
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment on deadline
- Connected and tuned into the latest Big Ten news
- Passionate for social media and evolution of technology
- Flexible availability
NICE TO HAVE BUT NOT A DEALBREAKER
- Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or Sport Management undergraduate track
- Experience clipping and editing in WSC Clipro
- Photoshop knowledge
